As an artist, Siegrun Appelt’s main interest lies in the interplay of light, shadow and darkness, whereby she is increasingly concerned about the issue of a more environmentally sustainable handling of light, energy and light emissions. By different means her indoor and outdoor installations visualize the sculptural and the architectural qualities of light, its creative as well as its destructive potential. For Siegrun Pia Bauernberger designed a functional coat for in - and outdoor workings with high power projectors and luminous elements. It’s made of a darkblue, fire-resistant and waterproof fabric, originally developed for fire-fighters. Sleeves and pockets are highlighted by a reflective technical material, to make Siegrun visible at any time.
